About Urban Funfair
Urban Funfair solves a specific problem: what to do when your group will not all enjoy the same thing. The evening is built around a genuine indoor fairground — a central carousel-style bar, dodgems, immersive lighting — with a seated dinner in the middle rather than at the centre.
Guests arrive into the fairground for a canapé reception, then move through to the dining room, where floor-to-ceiling windows look out across the Thames to the Canary Wharf skyline. Dinner is two courses with dessert stations, which keeps the seated portion to a manageable length.
After dinner the focus returns to the funfair. Some of the group will go straight to the dancefloor when the DJ starts; others will circulate between the rides, the bars and the quieter spaces. Because nobody is confined to one activity, the energy holds through the night without relying on a single focal point.
Magazine London on the Greenwich Peninsula is one of the capital's more contemporary large-scale venues. The split between a high-spec dining room and a separate fairground zone is what stops the evening feeling repetitive.
